Leaf.News – August Edition

From Our CEO

Welcome to the second edition of Leaf.News! We’re excited to bring you more information and resources to help your business grow.

Since our last email, there has been a whirlwind of change in the world. It’s important for us that we do our part to help the black community, especially in the cannabis industry, where we can help the most. We are supporting several relevant causes, but one cause we are particularly committed to is the Minority Cannabis Business Association (MCBA). MCBA’s programming supports equality and diversity in the cannabis industry through policy, empowerment, and connection. To learn more or get involved, head over to https://minoritycannabis.org/.

Back at our (virtual) office we’ve been hard at work on new features to benefit our customers. In the next few months, we’ll be conducting a beta launch of Leaf Pay, a new solution on our platform that will make compliant payments, accounts receivable, and accounts payable painless and convenient.

In the hemp world, several states (such as IL & MD) have started to develop new laws that allow cannabis cultivators to transact in hemp-derived CBD products. This will allow the focus to remain on THC cultivation efforts, while also minimizing cost inputs for CBD SKU production. If your business is interested in starting to source hemp-derived CBD products, get in touch with us today!

And lastly, we are proud to bring on some new MSO customers, Acreage Holdings, and Columbia Care! We are glad to service them and help facilitate ordering and fulfillment of their products through our platform.

Stay tuned to our Twitter and Instagram for more updates on what we’re doing to streamline the hemp and cannabis supply chains.

Partner Spotlight: The 357 Company

We believe in working with people you can trust. Today, we’re spotlighting one of those people: Kevin Schultz, the Co-Founder and President of The 357 Company, a logistics company with an established hemp logistics business.

Kevin started his company with his business partner after seeing “holes” in the hemp logistics space. The two teamed up to help people in hemp start thinking about logistics early on and navigate those details more efficiently. Read more about Kevin and his insights into the industry with our interview with him here.

To learn more from Kevin about building a thriving hemp business, check out this recording of our recent webinar, where he spoke with our Leaf Trade team, Peyton Hurst, VP of Strategy, and Scott Edson, Client Sales Manager.
